Suzhou Huasu Plastics CO., Ltd. is founded in 1992 by the Chairman of Westlake Group of Companies (USA), Mr T.T.Chao. The major shareholder is Chao Group International, and the other shareholders are Norsk Hydro a.s (Norway), IFC(international Finance Corporatin), China Jiangsu Chemical Pesticide Group Company and China Taicang Petrochemical Company. The total investment in this Company now is up to US $89.3 million. Phase I of the project was completed in 1994, with a production of 24,000 MT/yr PVC film. The project is mainly used in inflatable toys/boats, semi-rigid film, transparent sheets, insulation film, stationery covers and other types of film for general application. Phase II project was fulfilled in Septmber 1999 with a manufacturing capacity of 100,000 MT/yr PVCresins. The company also has plans to venture into upstream as well as downstream activities.
